FISHFACT has undertaken a number of Fisheries and Aquatic Ecology Impact Assessments and Habitats Directive Assessments for Wind Energy Projects both in Ireland and the UK. Surveys completed included fisheries assessments and freshwater ecological impact assessments.
We have worked on both onshore and offshore wind energy developments.
The largest onshore wind energy development proposal we have worked on is the Greenwire project for Element Power, which is a major project located across the Irish Midlands. The proposal involves exporting the electricity generated by a proposed 750 wind turbines to the UK via undersea cable.
The largest offshore project we have worked on was the proposed Dublin Array offshore wind farm project. This proposal consists of 145 turbines in Dublin Bay.
