Welcome to the website of FISHFACT a specialist consultancy offering a range of aquatic ecology and fisheries services in the UK and Ireland.

Our range of technical services include fisheries impact assessments, hydrology modelling, fishway design and fisheries mitigation technology

We provide fisheries impact assessment studies  for proposed renewable energy projects such as small hydroelectric schemes and wind farms, and also for infrastructure projects such as water supply schemes, waste water discharges, road schemes and flood alleviation schemes. We can design fish passes, and undertake hydrology assessments and models for setting compensation flows.   We can provide surface water quality management plans to allow effective protection  of aquatic habitats and fisheries resources. We also provide surveys for rare and protected aquatic species.

We were established in 1999 by Dr. William O’Connor – a senior aquatic ecologist who has over 20 year’s professional water quality, fisheries and aquatic ecological consultancy experience.
